Embark on an interstellar role-playing adventure 200 years in the future as you follow the footsteps of a missing ship and her crew.
200 years in the future...
Private corporation Dayspring Industries recruited and sent eight of humanity's bravest and brightest on a mission to the far reaches of space. The Second Star was praised as humanity’s hope for opening up the rest of the galaxy for exploration and expansion...until contact was lost and the mission abandoned.
Ten years later, an independent astronomy research facility in southern Chile announced that they had detected a distress call from a beacon outside our solar system. A multinational effort is announced shortly after to put a new team of astronauts together with the hope of finding the Second Star, her crew, and some long-awaited answers.

Zenzile “Zile” Ndayeni is the commander of the Persistence. A member of the respected Xhosa tribe, Faku, an experienced astronaut, and a licensed spacecraft pilot, South African native Ndayeni was among the original invitees to join the crew of the Second Star, an invitation he declined for personal reasons. As commander, he emphasizes the importance of workplace safety, particularly in the field of space exploration, a topic he has continued to champion as a respected astronaut and leader.
Lakshmi Ramakrishna was initially short listed for the Persistence based on her years of experience on civilian orbital space stations. Due to the evolving nature of the industry and the necessary flexibility of a space crew, the British-Canadian's official title would vary from station to station; Chef, Quartermaster, Kitchen Hand. Her work with perishable supplies and excursion-related gear make her already familiar with the role expectations as Quartermaster of the Persistence. Lakshmi's years of service on space stations earned her the recommendation to serve as second-in-command on the Persistence.
A native of New Zealand and a prodigy in spacecraft systems and engine design, Johanna "Joey" Barker is the Persistence's engineer. When the time came to assemble the crew for the Persistence, Barker was among the first to volunteer, unknowing that her certifications had already landed her a spot on the crew. Joey will respond best to humorous responses from Lee, but also appreciates blunt honesty. She's also an incorrigible flirt, and loves it when people can take this in stride, and especially loves it when they reciprocate.
Shaya de Rooy
Yishai “Shaya” de Rooy is the pilot of the Persistence. Born to parents from opposite sides of the North Atlantic Ocean, Shaya spent his childhood traveling between Concord, New Hampshire and Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Shaya's direct and practical approach to work along with his piloting expertise earned him a position at the Dutch space agency during which he flew on a multitude of government missions across charted space. When A.E.R.O.S. announced their intention to push forth with a rescue attempt for the Second Star crew, Shaya applied immediately and later officially joined the crew.
June Hernández is the health officer of the Persistence and an accomplished medical professional and renowned expert in holistic health. Born in Leeds, United Kingdom, their ability to soothe distressed patients and maintain control in often volatile situations garnered several awards of merit. Dr. Hernández implemented an array of employee Wellness Programs during their career, leading them to becoming one of the first graduates in the Galactic Fitness Program assisting astronauts with preparing for and reintegrating from long stretches of time in space. Dr. Hernández’s expertise in promoting comprehensive health amid challenging scenarios makes them well-suited to the role of Health Officer on the Persistence.
Advanced Navigational Aerospace Visual Interface
A remarkable evolution in the field of artificial assistant software, ANAVI is a prototype developed by two-time Turing Award winner Dr. Lena Alter for the Persistence mission. Produced to function as a true collaborator, ANAVI utilizes the ship’s extensive database and systems combined with real time analysis to innovate solutions in the lab and field. ANAVI can process audio, video, and tactile feedback broadcast from the crew’s encounter suits, communicators, and terminals and will be Lee's guide during planetary excursions in the search for the Second Star.
Enhance your excursions
Craft upgrades for your ship and suit using the Persistence’s state-of-the-art Fabricator and blueprints discovered on planets or given to you by your crew mates. Replenish your supplies using resources you find on planets or even cultivate your own rare alien specimens in the lab's hydroponics bay.
